Mazdas can be a pain with their FOBs. I bought a used CX-5, but it came with the wrong three button FOB. A quick VIN check with a dealer got me the right part number. I matched it to this four button one, crossed my fingers and ordered it. It was programmed to the car with zero issues. Pity they seem to be continually sold out!
Took my fob to the local locksmith and it took about 20 minutes to program it and it work like a charm!
Couldn't find an independent locksmith to program and cut the key. Went to my local dealer, who agreed to try, took about an hour, they succeeded and charged a reasonable fee. I 've been using the key for several days now, can't tell the difference between Keyless Entry's key and an original.
