I took about 10 days to receive my fob. I had already found the programming instructions and immediately tried to get the new fob programmed. Even though I had 2 fobs that work to start/run the vehicle, one of them had lost the ability to control the rear hatch and sliding doors (lock/unlock/Panic still work). I was never successful getting the new fob to program. I called customer service and was told that the existing fobs had to be in 100% working order to program the new one. My only recourse was to have a locksmith or dealer program the new fob. I went to a locksmith and paid $70 to get the new fob set up. So far it works as it should.
This was a lot cheaper than the dealership. And works great. $75 to get programed at dealership.
Programmed the key FOB for my 2009 Dodge caravan on my own. At first the car started but the buttons weren't working. I contacted customer support and they reminded me the key did not come with a battery. Lesson learned, if the buttons aren't working, make sure the new key has a battery. Saved $200!
